Your Contractor:
Growing up I was always fascinated and attracted to ponds and streams - all of which was right behind my parents home in Ulster County. My friends and I would spend many hours a day, all summer long fishing and catching all the different wildlife a young boy would enjoy such as frogs, salamanders, snakes and my all time favorite - turtles. I am proud to say that not too much has changed, I still enjoy fishing and keep three aquatic turtles and five Koi as pets. This certainly is what pioneered my path in the world of ponds and water gardens. In 1995 I was operating a small lawn maintenance company and was thrusted into the pond installation game with my first water garden. I was so excited to say the least, yet not so knowledgeable. The pond turned out great, and I have certainly learned more than I could have imagined since then. I am proud to share the ownership and operation of Pond & Landscape with my wife, Jennifer. We are both very empathetic to wildlife and domestic animals as well. We share common beliefs that are ethically and spiritually based. In buisness, I promote what I like to call the "science over sales" concept. Projects and jobs are to be correctly done or not at all, but never incorrectly or rushed just for the sake of making a sale,(this is too commonly found in this industry today). Character molds success. Choosing a contractor should not be difficult if one of them is standing apart from the rest, one who is promoting original ideas and concepts.
Here is some sound advice for choosing your contractor:
- Weigh quality over price point. It is more expensive to do something twice.
- Ask questions – Challenge your pond installer – How knowledgeable are they?
- Is your pond installer building your pond or just the hired help?
- Remember, "Beautiful Ponds Built Right"
